What do I do at Amzur?

A few words about me
Currently, I am working on three projects, so I am quite busy day in and out.
In layman’s terms, I create the applications or systems that run on a computer or another device. I consider myself creative, and I am told by my managers that I tend to carry out innovative ideas. You would think that I sit at my desk designing programs all day—and I do, but my job involves many more responsibilities. I may spend my days working on a client project and writing new code from scratch. I may also be tasked with maintaining or improving the code for programs that are already up and running. Sometimes I check for bugs in software. And although the job does involve extreme concentration and chunks of uninterrupted time, I have to dedicate time to collaborating with others, including fellow developers, managers, and/or clients.

A day at Amzur

I usually start my work at 9 a.m., and then I check emails and my calendar and try to organize meetings and plan collaboratively. I make sure that the most urgent work gets done first. That way, I can increase my work pace and be more productive for the rest of the day.

The reason I joined Amzur

I was impressed with Amzur’s work, company’s mission and vision, and the awards it has received. After reviewing all of the positive employee reviews and client testimonials on LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Facebook, I could easily see that my values were aligned with the company’s, and I was ready for new challenges.

My advice to other IT professionals

Software developers are employed in a range of industries. As developers at Amzur, our days are spent working on diverse projects in different industries and getting to learn new areas of expertise.

Contribute to open-source projects as a bridge from beginner to intermediate.

Collaborate with project developers and attend meetups to work with other developers in person.

Use LinkedIn and StackOverflow to share your methods of finding a solution. Also, concentrate more on programming principles.
